description
Hyper*espresso is a digital pavillion part of The Wrong Biennale 2023/2024.
It explores the connecting space between Italian culture and the online experience. The webspace features works and collections by emerging artists that take a critical look at the subject of Italian-ness.
The project emerged from a reflection on the Italian stereotype by Alessia Fallica, Martina Pizzigoni, Mattia Salamida, Emma Silvana Tripaldi and Sofia Talanti, a group of artists and designers who shared the experience of studying abroad and confronting the contrast between their own cultural identity and the image that it generates abroad. Hyperespresso aims to analyze, deconstruct and reinterpret salient aspects of Italian identity through contemporary art. With a critical eye and a multidisciplinary approach, the artists selected for the exhibition address topics that range from politics to religion, from food to soccer.
